Khmer New Year Celebration
9 April 2004

SILAKA and staff celebrated Khmer New Year on April 9, 2004 at SILAKA premise. The program started with a prayer ceremony, officiated by Venerable Yos Hout Kemacharo and Ven..... After the official blessing, SILAKA staff welcome the Trot dance from the Koma Berei Bakkheng (Tel# 012-875887). The Trot dance is Khmer traditional dance, symbolizing chasing away all bad luck from the past year, clean house, and welcoming the New Year! Well wishes and New Year bonus were delivered by Ms. Thida Khus, the Executive Director. After the dinner was served, the event ended with popular dance of SILAKA’s staff and the young dancers.

Bad Luck was officially chased away from the office to make way for prosperity for the coming Monkey Year.
