Peace camping (starting in 2004)
The peace camping is inspired by the commemoration of the Paris Peace Agreement of 1991, marking the beginning of the end of civil war in Cambodia. It is a yearly gathering with the main focus on strengthening exchange and cooperation among peace activists and facilitate awareness raising about conflict and peace in the communities. Peace activists in Phnom Penh and the selected area are invited to organize and join the event. During the peace camping, various activities are taking place, such as peace-quiz, cycling for peace, village visits, Buddhist teachings, group discussions, games, etc. The peace camping lasts 3 days and takes place in different provinces. In 2004, the peace camping will take place in Tumring Commune, Sandan District, Kompong Thom province.
Network Support (ongoing)
CTP supports the creation of networks of participants of CTP trainings in the provinces. The networks are a tool to motivate former training participants’ action in the field of conflict resolution and peace-building in their communities and provide opportunities for exchange and cooperation. Such networks get continuous support in their activities, i.e. meetings, field trips, exposure trips and further capacity building.
