NOMINATION FOR CANDIDATE TO ASEAN INTER-GOVERNMENTAL COMMISSION ON HUMAN RIGHTS – AICHR

Phnom Penh, Cambodia- On 12th October 2009, Nomination of candidate to ASEAN Inter-Governmental Commission on Human Rights – AICHR have been announced. The Working Group for Candidate Selection includes CHRAC, NGO Forum, CPWP, CCC, COMFREL, NGOCRC, and HACC will be meeting at CHRAC Secretariat October 12th, 2009 at 2:30pm to decide. 

Proposed agendas:

• Reporting on number of nominating organizations and nominee
• Discussion and approval of procedures for nominee selection
• Decision on one final nominee for sending govt.

 The following candidates have been nominated by six NGOs/NGO coalitions received so far are:

• Mr. Thun Saray,
• Mr. Sok Sam Oeun,
• Dr. Kek Galabru,
• Dr. Lao Mong Hay,
